Busy neigh for the NSW SES Hawkesbury Unit

Our volunteers were called to rescue a Clydesdale horse after it had become trapped in a septic tank on a rural property. This sort of rescue is a very specialised rescue that is undertaken by SES volunteers after very in-depth training.

Today there will be 45 teams of SES volunteers, supported by the RFS, Fire and Rescue and local Councils, working to clear debris and effect temporary repairs to properties damaged by the weekend storms.
Crews worked late into the night last night, with the photo showing volunteers in The Hills area where over 810 emergency jobs were logged.

This might look like the hole on the ninth green at the local golf club, but in fact it is a hole made in a lawn in Kellyville by a hailstone yesterday. This gives you some idea of the size of the hail and how hard it hit. No wonder our volunteers are so busy today attending to roofs with smashed tiles and skylights.
