A Severe Weather Warning for Damaging Winds has been issued by the BoM for people in parts of the Snowy Mountains Forecast District. Areas which may be affected by the winds today include Thredbo Top Station and Charlotte Pass.

Did you know that NSW SES volunteers train in vertical rescue? These skills help us to assist the Police in retrieving people, even animals, when they have fallen down cliffs, steep slopes or shafts.
Last weekend some of our volunteers from the Mid-North Coast did training in this important support role, and here are some pictures and a link to a local newspaper story.
