Sure does beat the bus!

NSW SES and NSW Rural Fire Service firefighters together rescued 90 children from a child care complex in Orchard Hills recently.

Kids at the Mandalong Close complex became isolated from their parents by flooded roads. Using 4WD's and large fire trucks kids were ferried out of the flooded area to their awaiting parents.

Yesterday our volunteers were called to a flood rescue at Shalvey near Blacktown, after reports that a teenager was in floodwater.

Our #volunteers commenced a search, using flood rescue techniques to keep themselves safe, when word came through that the person they were searching for was safe.

SES members were called after reports of a child missing in Floodwater today at Shalvey.

The child was luckily pulled from the water by friends and walked away from this incident.

Following on from tragic events in the Illawarra last week we can't stress this enough, floodwater is dangerous and can be deadly. Please do not walk, ride or drive in floodwater.

Northern #NSW continues to experience heavy #rainfalls as a low pressure trough off the NSW coast has resulted in widespread areas of rainfall impacting areas from the Queensland border moving south to #Sydney and the #Illawarra South Coast. If you live around the Iluka area be aware that due to rain and tidal influences roads may open and close intermittently becoming more flooded as we move towards the next hight tide.

The next high tide will occur just after 2am. If the road is open and you elect to leave for any reason please ensure you return well before high tide as it may become impossible to get back in until waters...
