Because Reunion Island exterminated their own reef shark population years ago by allowing shark finning in their waters, a larger shark species ( who was kept away by the sharks exterminated ) is now overpopulating the reefs of this beautiful island.

This overpopulation of bull sharks is a consequence of human actions. Nature did not create this mess, we did. Shark fining is the reason this...

A healthy eco system has lots of sharks. They are responsible for keeping the balance of our oceans by eating the sick and diseased fish.

They keep our oceans thriving with the strongest of all species.

Last year the late Rob Stewart from Sharkwater was at this seafood market in Panama. Three weeks ago #sharkgirlmadison Madison Stewart was also here at this market.

Today was my turn to visit the seafood market in Panama City.

I've never seen so many dead sharks in my life, I've never seen that many sharks together period!

Crates after crates of beheaded, finless sharks and lots of new...

If your on Maui, please be safe. Don't go hiking, can be very dangerous. And don't swim in brown water (run off from storms into the ocean) can make you very ill and if you have any cuts can cause infection, plus waters tend to be more sharky ???? after storm.

Makena beach could soon be an even more dangerous place if lifeguards are removed.

State wants to cut funds for our lifeguards and this can also endanger our visitors.

This beach is known as the second most dangerous beach in Hawaii with a high incidence of spinal injuries.

The usual rule of thumb is not to touch marine animals.... but then there's the gray whales. They seem to look for human affection.

A species we almost wiped out of the face of the earth now allowing us to exchange energy, to be touched by the hands of the aggressors.

Forgiveness is beautiful
The whales have so much to teach us. If we only learned how to listen ...

It's not every day you get to see a Hawaiian monk seal. It's one of the most endangered marine mammals in the world. They are native to Hawaii and not found anywhere else in the world. Protected under the endangered species act, the marine mammal protection act and Hawaii state law.

Please never approach a Hawaiian monk seal and keep a safe distance away.

Aloha
