Families who had fled their homes because of fighting to recapture the village from ISIS returned to find their properties destroyed and looted.

Oxfam has distributed aid including blankets, heaters, solar lights & more to the people in Xarar village, around 20km south-west of #Mosul.

Andy, who studied engineering at university, met Oxfam water engineer Owino in Kenya. This is the only pump in the area, so it is a lifeline to people in Makutano, Turkana. Amos shows Oxfam supporters Liz and Joss how to use the water ATM he maintains in Kayole, Kenya. Amos said: "Before there used to be really long queues because water was only available for a couple of hours of the day. Now there are only a handful of people at any one time. I am so happy."

Today we met Jacinta, an Oxfam volunteer who maintains this water point. The water point delivers clean water to 1000 people so now they don't have to walk for hours in the blistering heat for water. Today Oxfam supporter Andy visited Fresh Life Toilets in a school in Nairobi. They featured in an Oxfam Unwrapped gift he bought a friend for Christmas. Andy said: "As a parent I feel that good sanitation is a basic right every child should have. But it's more than just good sanitation, I like that Fresh Life Toilets are creating jobs and that the products are used for farming."
