Happy 2017 to all. I’ve been swimming and singing most days so far which is a good way to start the year. Nephew Dan and I have braved the bay a couple of times since last week’s shark sighting in St Kilda. A little closer to shore than usual and taking turns on the outside. Dan’s also swimming in Brisbane this Saturday to raise money to protect The Great Barrier Reef. Find out more here. PK

Two of Paul’s songs landed in Junkee’s Top 5 Like a Versions this year. And good news for the new year. Paul has written most of a new record which will be coming out mid 2017. He’s hoping to write a few more this summer by the sea. We’ll try and leave him alone.

Happy Christmas and gravy-making to all from all of us here at the office. See you in 2017. Team PK

All done with the church shows now. See pic from St Michael's taken by Jackson Raine. Had fun in Darwin and at Tanks last night in Cairns. Went to see the beautiful stained glass Creation windows at St Monica's Cathedral and paid the usual visit to the mighty Tobruk swimming pool to clear the head this morning. PK
Back in the city of churches. And the deep end of the Norwood Pool where I learnt to swim 56 years ago. Will sing Deeper Water in the church tonight. PK
"This collaboration is a powerful meditation on life, death and the mess we make in-between. The weight of Kelly’s vocals complement Owen’s delicate guitar to do justice to music that is much loved." Record Collector Magazine (UK). Team PK.

Briggs and Trials from A.B. Original invited me and Dan Sultan this week to jam on Dumb Things for Like A Version on JJJ. Never sounded quite like this. PK
Charlie, Maddy, Memphis and I are up and running with the Death’s Dateless Night shows and loving the big, spacious church sound. Handfuls of tickets left around the country. PK
I’m excited to be going on the road with my daughters Memphis and Maddy. After years of singing around the house, this is our first tour together. Charlie Owen took this photo in his back yard during a break in rehearsals. We’re already in sync, dressing the same without meaning to, a good omen for the shows. Bird on A Wire from the record is on the set list, of course. Thank you, Leonard. PK
To mark the release of Death’s Dateless Night, I’ve made a Spotify playlist of my songs that touch on the themes of the record. Included is a new song, previously unreleased - Stephen Foster’s Last Waltz - written to commemorate the great 19th century American songwriter Stephen Foster. PK

Death’s Dateless Night steps into the light today. Charlie and I wave it on its way. Songs we've sung at funerals. My daughters Maddy and Memphis sang harmonies on a couple, my sister Mary Jo on another. PK
