Heyyyyyyy Franco an inside pitch off a guy who hasn't pitched in the bigs since 2014!!!! I'll be happy when he finally hits a ball to right Robert Michael Ryan Sweeney

This guy is the main piece to the team's future. Let's get behind this team and re-fill The Bank! I'm tired of seeing CBP not even half full.

On this date in 1936, Harry Kalas was born. And even though he's gone, his voice and spirit will live on forever.

I will always have great memories of warm summer nights, listening to the Phillies play. Harry and Whitey made you feel like you were at the Vet. You were right there for every pitch, every amazing play, and every "outta here" homer. Here's to the best broadcasting duo in baseball, calling games from the Press Box upstairs.
03/26/2017 at 15:17
Harry's voice filled the Summers of my youth. I live in NC and I would catch the games on old WCAU 1210 AM. "Long drive, deep left-center, outta here!" Thank you so much, Harry Kalas.
03/26/2017 at 15:24
Oh ....a summer afternoon half-nap on the sofa and Harry's lilting voice with perfect cadence in the background ...nothing like it.

Expectations for this group is 83 wins. This is starting to look like the early 2000's when the team is young and can bring excitement, but still a year away for playoffs.

Disappointed there are no on-deck games this year. Has been a tradition with my father for years

I still thought no he can be a superstar. Phillies lineup was a mess last year. Hoping Saunders gives him some protection. I think he could hit .300 and still hit 35 hrs.
03/24/2017 at 21:11
Would be nice if they didn't have 3 starters that hit 225 or less. Galvis, Saunders, and Franco. Holding out hope Joseph doesn't join the group.

I met Dallas at Magee rehab last summer. Yelled at him when he didn't want to do rehab. in the next couple of days he started doing better. Kept calling me Big Fella, made me feel good. I am 70 now so I lived and died red and 1980 many so much to me. My sympathies to his family

It won't take long for this dude to get one in the ear. He bat flips after every hit. I'm a Phillies fan but it's annoying.

To many standing to far from plate scared of ball . Fix it Matt Stairs . Those Japanese Ball Players stand the closest to the plate and that's one major reason why they are considered the best ball players in the world for decades . They know what there doing and they want to win every game and every wbc . Even there 12 year olds stand closer to the plate then some of the Phillies . Fix it Matt stairs .

We met him waiting to get on a plane from MIA to Philadelphia. I said hi & asked "think the Phillies will make the playoffs?" He smiled & said I hope so. I was surprised he & his wife were flying in coach. I don't know how he fit into a coach seat on an airplane. A real nice guy. I hope the Phillies do a great tribute to him on opening day.
03/25/2017 at 16:36
Dallas was a tough, fair, great manager. He helped get Philadelphia something it never before had, a World Series title. He was really kind to a 10 year old fan (me), always writing back to me when I sent him letters during his playing days, telling him how great he was. He remained a good friend to our family for the rest his life.

Question...why wouldn't you have pitchers simulate a windup to better time the jumps? The light idea is great to test the reaction but come April 1 it isn't a light...its a pitcher with a specific windup. Just seems odd for game situations.

It's tough to say "so long" to a guy like Dallas Green. He did so much for the City of Philadelphia and the Phillies franchise. I'm sure he'll be honored and remembered for a long time.
03/22/2017 at 21:17
RIP Dallas. I know I should say Mr. Green, but you just seemed like one of those people who would be OK with first names. And thank you for one of the greatest moments in Philly sports history. #1980WorldSeries #SayhellotoTugger

Once the idiot pitchers (who seem to have no mental approach to pitching these days) figure out that this idiot (who is among the many of today's hitters who have no mental approach to the game) will swing wildly at anything out of the strike zone, he may have trouble even hitting .250!

Guy hits .286 and "eyes batting title." A legend in his own mind. Let's hope he can hit .290.
