Sky Harbor employees and volunteers love flying with Amelia and Chuck, even when the weather isn't cooperating, as long as the destination is PHX! This slideshow is from the National Bank of Arizona Fiesta Bowl Parade held in downtown Phoenix on Dec. 31, 2016.
On Friday, December 30, 2016, Aviation staff removed the historic chapel bell to be able to preserve it. The cast iron bell is more than 100 years old and was originally used in the 1930s with an adobe chapel that was at the original Sky Harbor North Terminal on the north side of today’s airfield. It was used to encourage fly-in weddings so that couples could come to Phoenix and get married.
