No they don't!! I found out for whomever will listen: i spoke to Ticketmaster and they give the ticket brokers allllll the tickets and don't give a RATS ass who they hurt!!!
I had a problem the other day and had to get ticketmaster on the phone!!!
This HAS to be PUT TO A STOP!!
I don't care if the damn brokers go broke!!
What is going to be done so the public can get tickets and not find the tickets on BROKERS sites wayyyy b4 the tickets even go in sale!!
Stop this bullshit!!!!!!
It's also be nice if all the fees charged by Ticketmaster and Telecharge could be included in the advertised ticket price.

Actually, other than Ellen Greene, the original isn't that good. The pace is slow, they had an amazing trio of girls and misused them, and they changed the ending. Id be up for them trying to get it right

I love Greg Berlanti for superhero tv shows...but I think he's going to be a huge liability to a remake of Little Shop. If he casts his boyfriend Robbie Rogers in it though...I'll watch it for the candy ;-)

I've never understood the urge to remake good movies. You remake bad movies because they are bad and could be better. Remaking a good movie only begs a comparison, which with a few exceptions, will not be favorable.

I loved the nod to the 'Hamilton' musical.
"I am not throwing away my shot"

The broadway version was better, for one thing...........over produced with too many technical issues/sound issues.................Ariana out of her element................if you wanted Broadway similarities/comparisons, then you should have cast more Broadway vets!!!
The actors did a good job, but the breaks in between scenes interrupted the pacing and made it feel long.

I think The Wiz did better because it felt like watching a show on Broadway. These more "immersive" filmed musicals make it more like a live movie. It doesn't feel like theater anymore. Bring back the classic style and make it feel like you're watching a stage show again.
Okay but The Wiz was awful, I got bored a little over halfway through and stopped watching. Yet it seemed like every person I knew was watching and enjoying Hairspray live. Hmm

I know it's not possible, but I wish they would show it straight through and instead of an intermission show a bunch of commercials and then start back over..it loses the momentum going to commercial after commercial

I went into it wanting to give Ariana Grande a chance, but as I'd feared, she was wrong for it. Not spazzy enough. She was going for timid and came off kind of flat. Jennifer Hudson was fantastic, despite being too young and too thin for the role. Harvey and Martin were delightful. Maddie Baillio was a ray of sunshine. Loved the musical theater references. I caught a nod to Hamilton and one to Gypsy. Did anyone catch any others?

I wish the sound had been better. Many times the singers were getting drowned out by the orchestra. Jen Hudson was THE BEST.
I didn't see the broadcast, but I see no fewer than 3 visual references to Pink Flamingos in this still, so I'm favorably impressed.

The fact a show based on the 60s is still relevant to this day is quite alarming. We have changed but only so much.
Act I was good...Act II...not so much. Too many commercial breaks ..lose the man-in-the-street interview breaks. Jennifer Hudson was fabulous...Arianna needed to go home. Camera work was awful...sound glitchy...overall...pretty good for TV

I cried when Jennifer Hudson sang, then again at the end with "You Can't Stop The Beat" with everyone. I saw it twice on Broadway and feel the same way every time. I only hope that the people whose eyes and minds need to be opened, were watching and as touched as I was. 💜

WTH with all of the ads? Every time a good number gains the show a little momentum, there's a commercial & they have to come back and start from square one. No matter the quality of the performances (and overall it's pretty good), the constant interruptions are an absolute BUZZKILL if you want to present anything resembling live theater!
Derek's the best thing, so far.......lighting issues, too much smoke from the lights/hairspray.............."Miss Baltimore Crab" was pretty bad, and I'm Kristin's biggest fan!! Crank up the volume on the songs, but I'm still underwhelmed....
Like all of their broadcasts, they really need the audible cheers of a live audience!!! Best one yet though. Harvey Fierstein is gold.
