Liam Scarlett’s No Man’s Land draws on the power of dance to reflect upon the heartache of war. It evokes the entwined destinies of the women working in munition factories at home and the men fighting in the trenches, through emotional pas de deux set to a score by Liszt.

Fabric, patterns and tulle galore! While the dancers are on holiday, work continues behind the scenes in our wardrobe department. They are busily preparing many of the beautiful costumes that the dancers will don this year, starting with our first season, Bespoke opening in February.

Welcome to all of our Summer School students starting today!

In this week-long program, the dancers aged 11 - 18 years will train with an elite group of teachers, who mentor them in classical ballet technique, pointe work, repertoire, character dance, contemporary dance and more. Have a fantastic week everyone!

In between classes, our Summer School students get to participate in informative discussions with QB staff and dancers, covering areas such as health, nutrition and all about life in a professional ballet company! Today they met Demi-Soloist Lina Kim-Wheatstone and Company Artist Joel Woellner, for a special Q&A hosted by Academy Director Christian Tátchev.
