On February 11th over 150 volunteers came together to clean up the beach at Capurro, one of the most contaminated on the planet. In 4 hours over 25,000 kg of trash was removed.

Operation Milagro III update!

While patrolling the Gulf of California The MV Sam Simon came across 16 totoaba carcasses with their prized swim bladders removed or partially removed.

Due to its high street value, the totoaba swim bladder is frequently referred to as "aquatic cocaine" and is the only reason these animals are being killed.

During the 2015/2016 whaling season Japanese whale poachers killed 333 minke whales, unimpeded. More than half of them were pregnant. Despite tough words from the international community no further action to uphold international conservation law has been taken. In embarking on our 11th whale defense campaign in the Southern Ocean Sea Shepherd remains the whales' last line of defense.
