Florida grows the world’s best strawberries, and the #TampaBay region is home to these farms. In fact, every year the Florida Strawberry Festival in Plant City attracts thousands of visitors from all over the state and nation.

Today I visited the Tampa area and met with the @flastrawberries to discuss the most recent growing season, the impact of foreign competition, their priorities for the...

Today I visited Camillus House in Miami to tour their new #veterans housing facility, which is scheduled to open in July. For decades, Camillus House has played an indispensable role in providing shelter, food, rehabilitative treatment and health care to Miami’s poor and homeless. But at their core, they provide people with something even more important: hope and daily reminders of their...

Jews around the world are facing an ugly wave of anti-Semitism, including here at home where Jewish Community Centers have been the targets of bomb threats. Today I met with Jonathan Greenblatt, the CEO and National Director of the Anti-Defamation League, to discuss ways we can combat this dangerous and nasty form of hate.

I support Montenegro’s accession to NATO and hope the Senate will approve this action as soon as possible. Adding Montenegro to NATO will bring a democratic partner closer to us and the Western world at a time when Russia threatens democracy and stability in Eastern Europe. It was my honor to welcome Montenegro’s Foreign Minister, Srdjan Darmanović, to Washington today and reiterate my support...

The world today faces its most severe humanitarian crisis since World War II, with more than 20 million people facing starvation and famine. Many have already died. The problem is most acute in Nigeria, Somalia, South Sudan and Yemen, where a diverse range of factors in each nation—most of them man-made—have led to widespread famine, malnutrition, sickness and death. On Sunday night, CBS 60...

#Zika is not just a public health issue, it’s an economic issue for a state like Florida, which depends on tourism.
Each year, I am honored to have the opportunity to nominate young men and women from across Florida who demonstrate leadership, commitment and integrity, the qualities required to pursue the top military training our nation has to offer. For those desiring admission to a military academy in the fall of 2018, the deadline for application is September 6, 2017.

I encourage all interested...

This week, the League of Cities has brought local officials from all over the country to meet with Congress about federal issues and their impact on local communities. I am a former local official myself, and served in the West Miami City Commission from 1998-2000, so I’ve always understood that government works best when it is closest to the people. Hearing from local officials is very...

The U.S.-Colombia alliance is one of America’s most cherished relationships, not only in the Western Hemisphere, but anywhere in the world. Over the past two decades especially, our military, security and judicial cooperation has helped make Colombia a 21st century success story, where the rule of law has been restored, the economy is flourishing, and narco-terrorist violence has subsided....

Late yesterday, I visited the Florida Air National Guard’s 125th Fighter Wing in Jacksonville. They have the responsibility of providing air defense for the southeastern United States – from Charleston, South Carolina, to South Florida.

The 125th Fighter Wing is one of the five remaining installations being considered for basing the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. Earlier this year, I urged the...

I enjoyed meeting yesterday with Mayor Lauren Poe of "The Swamp" (Gainesville, Florida). He's also a professor at Santa Fe College, one of America's top colleges, which I attended before graduating from the University of Florida. We concluded our conversation on a wide range of issues affecting our state with, what else, a little bipartisan Gator chomping.
Appeared on Fox 35 WOFL this morning with Amy Kaufeldt FOX 35 to discuss replacing ObamaCare with a better system, the threats against Jewish institutions in Florida and around the country, and more.
It was great having Governor Rick Scott in D.C. this morning. We had an important discussion on the future of health care in America. We are committed to working to make sure #Florida is treated fairly as #ObamaCare is repealed & replaced.
There should be no excuse for anyone—particularly those in positions of authority and who are entrusted with the safety and well-being of young athletes—to fail to report the sexual abuse of children and young adults. Recent revelations about the USA Gymnastics program are deeply troubling, and it’s clear we must do more to strengthen protections for young athletes, ensure victims receive...

On Friday, President Trump and I visited St. Andrew Catholic School in #Orlando, just one place that has changed the lives of #Florida students and empowered them to pursue the American Dream thanks to school choice and Step Up For Students scholarships.

Fixing our health care system is going to happen. But we're not going to do it the way the Democrats did, which is passing a law and then spending five years cleaning up the mess. We’re going to do it once, we're going to do it right. And if it takes an extra week or two to get it right, the American people deserve that. But I am confident we will repeal and we will replace #ObamaCare.
