Very much enjoyed my time at the High Commission for Pakistan's reception for #PakistanDay last night in Ottawa. Was happy to see many members of the Pakistani-Canadian community, as well as Ambassador for Kuwait, Ahdulhamid A M A Alfailakawi and Ambassador for the UAE, Mohammed Saif Helal Al Shehhi.

Yesterday, I along with other members of the Canadian delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union's general assembly, met with Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, to show our solidarity in condemning the attack in Quetta. Canadian senators play long game
This Spring the Senate Standing Committee on Human Rights looked at how the resettlement of Syrian refugees in Canada is progressing. Canada and her people have welcomed them- but our government needs to do more to make sure they are able to thrive in our country.
