VIDEO: When it’s on…Snapper Rocks on the Gold Coast is known as a long, fast, hollow bazza that gets you pitted for days.

It’s also know for the mass crowd of punters for as far as the eye can see, all hassling for a taste. On a small day, it’s still fun…with a moderate spattering of frothers.

One of the biggest frothers out there was Dogman.

The challenge of it was also something I loved, and I also felt some kind of spiritual connection with the use of the paddle. I sometimes think about my Polynesian ancestors and how they utilized the paddles on their traditional canoes, and stories and evidence (such as the Duke) of SUP may have been in the culture long before it became popular today.
