If newer cars didn't cost so damn much in the first place, then maybe it wouldn't be so bad. Another part of it could be people just don't have a lot of money to spend after rent/mortgage, food, and utilities. So of course they want the best bang for their buck, and don't see extra car features as a necessity.
I'm prepared to pay up to the speculated $5k for autonomous features in my Model 3, although I am hoping it doesn't cost that much.
I understand as a consumer, there's a built-in cost for Research & Development, however in Tesla's case, I think the early adopter's of the Model S, and Model X paid for the majority of that.
That's because the industry charges too much for their vehicles. Price is set by demand, not arbitrary profit expectations.
Vehicles damned near cost what a house costs and their value decreases as soon as it leaves their parking lot. Sounds like buying a new vehicle isn't what it is cracked up to be.

Its not just used by a UK company. Its just vacuum forming, been around for decades. Whoever made this should educate themselves. And you guys are supposed to be a tech page.
^not the first time I said something like that on this page.
they misrepresent the process of vacuum forming... The plastic is heated and then the mold is raised AS all of the air sucked out. This forces the plastic to conform to the mold. Thats actually the key part of the process. For fk's sake!!!

The end of YouTube is near. Yeah, some ads somehow showed on a hate speech video and that sucks. But they really struggle to differentiate between hate speech and a parody/commentary of a hate speech.
Your video can be flagged to be offensive hate speech even if you are doing a commentary or critique denouncing such speech if you show some snippets of a hate speech videos.

Be surprised that can be more 'efficient' than a regular plane, with pods sticking out. Also not enough engines to lift that much surely - compare A380 4 engine, 2decks. On bright side, may have room for parachutes in pods for emergency drop.
Neat concept.... I could see it in certain limited applications such as brush fire fighting or dropping modular living spaces / labs to remote areas or military ordonnance, but on the whole most passagers would not feel safe being suspended in a jettisonable pod, nor would most people on the ground like pods flyleaf over head... but the concept is inovative.
Though the idea of separation from cabin is good it is not a fully aerodynamic with shown pod design concept, as it is possible ; to make it that way while keeping in mind the benefits to be derived and incorporate even more and thus the objectives to be achieved.
