This is a stupid list. It's just a brand plug, let's be serious, you need a good set of knives, not a "chopper" , and pretty sure I've never seen a salad spinner in a real kitchen.

How about a vacuum sealer, a sous vide, a pressure cooker, a proper mandolin, a torch, a smoker, and a chinois (sieve), to go with the cast iron pan, the immersion blender, tongs, and zester?

I'm sorry... Any recipe that calls for "4 pinches fleur de sel" is not going to make it into my kitchen to make a good, or even great grilled cheese sammich! And don't get me started on the subject of using raisin bread!
12/04/2016 at 22:33
These are sandwiches, not grilled cheese. Sure, give me different cheeses, different breads. But after that, adding anything to it isn't a grilled cheese but some other kind of sandwich.
12/04/2016 at 22:46
I would definitely argue that something with short ribs is no longer grilled cheese. Just a short rib panini, or melt, if you will.

Well...I'm German and I eat my potatoes with a fork and knife all the time...never heard of such a "rule"...it's just yummy to smash them a bit to make more soak-up-ability for the gravy...because German gravy is delicious! 😊 do however use proper table manners...Germans are picky about proper table manners...like chewing with your mouth open...

Good grief! Put whatever the hell you want in guacamole - or anything for that matter. What's the big deal with changing up food sometimes? If it's good, it's good. Life would be pretty boring if everyone stuck strictly to tradition with everything all the time.

My husband's grandmother sent us home with a pork shoulder she had cooked that morning. TSA wanted to know what was hot in the bag. When we told them Grandma made us a roast, they let us pass. 😆🍖
12/03/2016 at 19:23
I was going through security at SFO in San Francisco. Got past the TSA agent, and heard a ruckus behind me. The TSA agent was telling a woman to open her carry on bag. She kept saying "no hablo Ingles". They got a Spanish speaking agent who told her to open her bag. She unzipped it and a large cat jumped out.

Really poor choice of location for elimination round. Glorifying a plantation and trying to extract an emotional response is just sick and desperate TV. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. It may be part of Charlestons history but there is no need to frame it the way you did. Disgusting

I have wanted to see a Top Chef where they bring back everyone that went home on the first episode of each season. Bringing back them for redemption to prove that they should not have gone home then. It could be Top Chef Gone Before We Knew You or something like that. You know Carla was in the bottom three her season and might have gone home then and know she had competed on All Stars and is a host of the Chew. So I am sure there are some wonderful chefs that left too early.

Irony. You make the African American contestant cook at the plantation and then send him home. I see you Top Chef. 😒😒😒

Top Chef, you are one of my favorite TV shows, but what were you thinking about last nights episode at that slave plantation? SO INSENSITIVE. I cringed especially when Padma asked Gerald how he felt. You're better than this Top Chef!

If slavery is always going to be an "issue", let's just wipe out the south as locations for the show. Hell, let's stop showing Gone with the Wind. History is just that, and those plantations are flat gorgeous, despite their hideous pasts.
