Used an agent last year to help arrange a multi-leg round world ticket. When the Paris attacks happened just before I was due to head there to then leave for the US, the agent did everything necessary to rearrange flights quickly so I didn't have to go to Paris and not lose all my connecting flights. It saved me having to spend hours on the phone. Totally worth it.

They generally provide great airfares. I found day tours better on the internet as there was more choice and cheaper. The first quote on accommodation is expensive, but after providing evidence of a better price on the internet, the travel agent matched it. It's worth using a travel agent if you also research for yourself.

As long as you do the right thing, Israeli customs are no problem. But it takes forever, so you're running for your flight with no time for duty free shopping.
I'd nominate England for the rudest customs staff. Certainly the grumpiest.

Travelled to Toronto, New York, London and Varadero, Cuba in August/September. Worst of all was New York! Absolutely horrible customs and immigration! So rude! Not everyone is a terrorist! You don't need to treat everyone so badly! Had no trouble in London or in Montreal and Toronto in Canada! In fact they were so friendly and welcoming!! I'd say Cuba was the easiest!!!!

I used to be a housekeeper, always wash your glasses and cups (just to be sure) take a zip lock bag for tv remote. It's a hard job, with not enough time. If you are lucky to have your own rooms to look after, you can do a much better job.

Why do Americans believe that their political views are of interest to anyone but themselves ? Were they not raised that "Sport, religion and politics are not dinner table conversation" (and by dinner table we mean basically anywhere there are other humans so that includes planes).

Common sense and planning should be a priority for anywhere you are looking to vacation. This is just a pointless article, that has been poorly titled, not researched and ultimately badly written. Sort it out traveller, you should be monitoring your posts so that misleading rubbish like these are not published!
11/29/2016 at 06:29
All her articles these days relate to her kids - so the heading should have been "safe for Australian families". Its also an older article than the date infers as it appeared in the national papers months ago.
