1-year-old Khaled is happy in the warm clothes that his mother bought for him using UNICEF’s e-voucher. Similar to an ATM card, it allows Syrian parents to buy jackets, hats, gloves, boots and more for their children. This winter, UNICEF Middle East and North Africa aims to provide 57,000 #ChildrenofSyria with clothes through the program.

This crisis is not over. In fact, it's getting worse. Almost 26,000 unaccompanied children — no parents or guardians to keep them safe — arrived to Italy by sea in 2016. They account for a staggering 91 per cent of all children who reached Italy's shores as refugees or migrants. They are #childrenfirst. They need protection and hope for a future.
