Safe driving is a long-standing focus for our drivers, in 1950 our Philadelphia drivers won the National Safety Council Award for Fleet Safety. That same year, Scuderia Ferrari finished 2nd in the inaugural Monaco Grand Prix – their first race in the Formula One World Championship. #TBT #ThrowbackThursday #ForzaUPS
Together with our employees, we have raised over $1.3 billion for United Way since 1982. This past weekend, we teamed up to host the UPS Tug-A-Plane. Groups of 12 gathered at the Miami International Airport to pull one of our B-757 aircraft. Thank you to those who came out to compete and help raise more than $10K.
In 1994, Patrice Clarke-Washington became the first African-American woman captain for a major U.S. airline. In 2017, we’ll make history again with our first all-female crew at the Thunder Over Louisville airshow.
UPSers contributed more than 2.7 million hours to global volunteerism in 2016. A huge thanks to UPSers around the world who are passionate about making the world a better place. We’re on track to reach our goal of 20 million volunteer hours by 2020! #VolunteerMonth
In 1946, UPS used a variety of vehicles to deliver packages including this one by International Harvester. That same year, Enzo Ferrari released designs for his new road cars to the press, fitted with a V12 engine designed by Gioacchino Colombo.
