I had wondered what this was when I was there last year. Took this shot from Inverary Castle. I like your view better lol. Wouldn't that be funny if I was taking my shot when your shot was taken ;)

None yet as kids need to be 8 to get it. So, this year will be the first where distillery is on ' have to go' list. Not sure how many of them are around Outer Hebrides - any idea or recommendation please?
05/20/2017 at 23:53
I did the whiskey tour is Scotland years ago when I was traveling. I've been to lots of distilleries. Very enjoyable experience. Lovely places to visit and all taste different. Particularly liked the smoky peat flavored Isla whiskeys.

Ha ha I was just watching a video on it about a 70 year old Glenlivet that's £900 a dram 😳😳 be rude not to toast it with a nip later this evening but an Ardbeg or Dalmore is more my budget 🥃 I trust tricky dicky will be toasting my homelands greatest export?

I heard the train will only pass the bridge two times a day. Do people know around what times the train will pass the bridge? I will be there in June, and can't wait to visit Glencoe. Thank you very much in advance!!!!
05/20/2017 at 18:10
where is this bridge from the photo?
05/19/2017 at 18:25
I have done the Jacobite Steam Train. Funny enough, I actually did it BEFORE reading Harry Potter (Yes, I was late to the game and only read it for the first time last year.) The scenery on the train ride was absolutely stunning and it is one of my favorite memories of my time in Scotland.

Loved seeing Ben Nevis from Ft. Williams and Spean Commando Monument at sunset. They also have the monument lit with colored lights after dark. I have a great slide of the monument lit up. Great time in 1995.

My mate is stuck in the harbour there as the Calmac Ferry snagged it's propeller on ropes. The 07:55 boat "may" leave sometime this afternoon if and when the divers arrive, probably by air to the beach :-(
05/19/2017 at 16:02
Watched a programme years ago about a little boy from London recounting a previous life living on Barra as a mad who died getting knocked over.
What ever happened to him I wonder..

Stop it. Don't tell anyone about our very favourite private place in Scotland..or the world. The best day of our honeymoon was spent her, nearly 40 years ago.
05/18/2017 at 15:44
Stunning, we are very much blessed in the Great scenery we have in Scotland although biased towards the West - west is best in my opinion.
05/18/2017 at 21:33
Been there with American visitors a number of years ago, do remember the road was very narrow bendy and bumpy, with highland coos and calf's, when we reached Sanna Bay the beauty of it made the journey well worth it..

That wee guy's not so wee once you get up next to him. :D
Why do I always weep when I see these scenes since I live on an Hawaii Island which is almost paradise? I have Scotland in my soul and long to be there. I've traveled in Scotland only twice but my family clan (Boyds) beckons me.
Pim Dogterom can we please go camping the next time you have a weekend off! I don't care where I just want to be in the middle of no where drinking whiskey and eating soupey!!!!!
