"But I don't understand, she said. "Who is, I am?"

And he replied, " I am love, I am peace, I am joy. I am forgiveness, I am compassion and I am patient. I am hope and I am benevolent. I am omnipotent, I am omniscient and I am the almighty. I am strength and I am safety. I am...

I’m from Maryland but when it comes to food, I am a true southern girl through and through. My Mom was born in Kentucky and raised in Tennessee and all I ever knew was her southern cooking growing up. You can’t claim to be southern if you don’t know this next recipe. I am crazy about Gravy and Biscuits and make them all the time.

See my Southern Gravy and Biscuits on the blog today.

My little girls are growing up. Lucy and Libby are now 10 months old and I love them more every day.

It was just over 7 months ago that I thought my world would end. So many of you followed my journey of trying to save Katie's life and praying for miracles everyday. She was my everything. She was my entire world. There will never be another like her and she will hold a place in my heart...

Another recall! Earlier this week it was Blue Buffalo recalling their canned food because of metal fragments. Today it's "Against the Grain Pet Foods" who is recalling its canned dog food because it may be contaminated with the drug, Pentobarbital. OMG how bad can it get?

Please be careful what you feed your babies. These big companies are careless and the FDA is not always on top of things....

Happy Valentine's Day!
I guess if I had to choose which one of all my brownie recipes I might like the best, this one would definitely be on the list. Notice I can’t commit? I have so many that are so good that it’s hard to choose just one. But there’s something about this one that sends it way up on that list. It’s a true marriage of moist homemade chocolate brownie, with a layer of rich and creamy vanilla...

When I was growing up, we always had homemade biscuits in the breadbox that sat on the kitchen counter. I can remember always waking up to the wonderful smell of my Mom's homemade buttermilk biscuits. We had them for breakfast with lots of butter and jam or with creamy sausage gravy. Sometimes she would make a dessert using leftover biscuits from that morning and this is exactly how they...

When I was little I would get so excited watching my Mom make my Dad's birthday cake. His favorite was German Chocolate and she made it every year right on up until the year she moved to Heaven. I couldn't wait to put the candles on and carry it out to him singing happy birthday. He would laugh and be so delighted with his favorite cake. I have now carried on this tradition. When I light the...

I love watching cooking shows and my favorites are Paula Deen, Ina Garten, Trisha Yearwood and old Tyler Florence's old reruns. So one day I watched Ina make the most decadent chocolate cake and top it with a luscious chocolate frosting, I knew I had to make it. But a big cake is just too much for one or two people. So I made a six inch cake and a half a dozen cupcakes out of the rest of the...
