Lernerville Speedway provided a great racing surface for the 8-time Series Champion, Donny Schatz, and a contender for Rookie of the Year, Sheldon Haudenschild to battle for the win until a heartbreaking wreck ended Haudenschild's night after leading the first 35 laps of the Don Martin Memorial Silver Cup.
Donny Schatz made history last night when he became the first driver to win the Kings Royal event in consecutive years! Schatz took the lead on lap 14 and never looked back. Christopher Bell had an impressive run from 20th to finish behind his teammate in 2nd, and Brad Sweet rounded out the podium. As the KSE Hard Charger, Ryan Smith ran 5th after starting in the last position!
Brent Marks has been the KSE Hard Charger the first two nights of Kings Royal Weekend at Eldora Speedway and has passed a total of 25 cars in Feature action. Can he continue his momentum tonight in the 40-lap/$50,000-to-win #KingsRoyalXXXIV, but with a better starting spot?
