5th graders at Davis Drive Elementary School in Cary, NC wrote letters to a veteran thanking them for their service then left them at The Wall. A beautiful way to show their gratitude! ❤ ( by Kara Brem)
The salute opened with a vigil and a reading of the names. Then a grand parade took place. Veterans marched joyously, some hand-in-hand or with their arms draped around one another, holding banners, flags, and signs.
When the Vietnam Veterans Memorial opened, no one knew it was going to draw the number of people it does. The walkway and lights were not part of the original design, but thankfully, have been added. The Memorial is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week: bit.ly/2oHLkJQ
